After successful cultivation, you can easily plant your small tree in a new container, or directly into the ground, without repotting, using the compostable pot. The pot will then decompose naturally in approximately 12-24 months, leaving no residue in the soil. Your plant can then develop its roots undisturbed and establish itself firmly in the ground.

The Judas tree supposedly gets its name from the fact that its leaves resemble the silver coins that Judas is said to have once received. What is certain , however , is that this plant is a valuable addition to the garden , providing a convenient and abundant food source for many insects and small animals , especially when the garden is not yet bursting with flowers.

The tree grows quite slowly and later develops a rather broad shape and, as a tree, a slightly umbrella-like crown. The very hard wood is used as veneer due to its beautiful grain .

The blossoms, which grow directly from the trunk and branches like orchids , can be eaten raw and are a sweet and sour addition and decoration to any salad . The flower buds are pickled and used as a spice .
